Job Description
As Second Assistant Camera (2nd AC), a.k.a as Clapper Loader you work with the informational slate that marks the beginning of each take in order to keep the footage organised for the post-production. You have to be concentrated and constantly update the information about roll, shot and take in the beginning of each take. Clapping the board makes the synchronisation between image and sound possible on editing.
As 2nd AC you also support the Cinematographer / Director of Photography (DOP) and the 1st AC by defining the focus marks on set and setting up and cleaning the camera equipment and accessories.
- Support the 1st AC during the blocking of the scene by watching where the actors move and placing gaffer tape focus marks on the ground.
- Keep a report of every shot, including individual camera settings.
- Help the first AC maintain and organise camera equipment, changing lenses and accessories.

You are doing very well on the set as Production Assistant in the camera department. The Cinematographer notices your interest in camera gear and because their regular 2nd AC is sick, he offers you a trial period as 2nd AC.
