Job Description

Your job as an Editor is to go through the raw footage, cut the best moments of the takes and connect the video and audio materials in post-production as a whole product according to the script, as well as the director’s vision.

In order to edit the final project you go through a variety of processes, including making a rough edit by cutting and ordering the materials, adding sounds, soundtracks and music given from the sound designer; adding effects, etc. Afterwards, you discuss with the director, and often with the producer too, and make corrections. At the end you do the final cut and provide the end product to the Director and the Producer.

Set up Situation

You have completed your film editing studies where you have already edited short films for your colleagues. One of them is now an established director and is currently preparing his next feature film. He contacts you as a person he would trust for the editing. Although the pay is not high, this is a great chance to receive credit and recognition.

Your mission

Start editing for a living and, within an year, become the first person to receive a call when directors are in need of an editor for a high-budget film.
